Pay Scale ( वेतन ) : Level 13-A (i.e. Basic Rs. 1,31,100/- + allowances)

Educational Requirements ( शैक्षिक आवश्यकता ) : Doctorate degree in Natural/Agricultural/Engine ering Medical Sciences or Nanoscience/Technology. In the case of medical professionals, the minimum qualification could be an M.D. or equivalent as approved by MCI.

Desirable Qualifications ( वांछनीय योग्यता ) : (i) At-least six years postdoctoral/ professional experience after PhD (ii) high quality publications (iii) Patents filed / granted (iv) PhD students guided

Experience Requirements ( अनुभव ) : (i) Experience of twelve years in Research and Development in Scientific, Industrial and Academic Institutions. (ii) Should have experience as Head of Department / Centre or Coordinator of major research projects in any branch of science / technology, preferably in the area of scanning probe-microscopy / experimental physics at nanoscale / nanophotonics / tissue engineering / biopolymers/ biomedical devices.(iii) Have contributed to research/teaching as evidenced by published work / innovation and impact

General Instructions ( सामान्य निर्देश ) : 1. There shall be no upper age limit in respect of scientists already working in INST on regular basis. 2. The upper age limit in respect of the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, the Ex-servicemen, Other Backward Classes, Persons with Disabilities shall be relaxed in accordance with the orders issued by the Government of India from time to time in this regard. 3. Director, INST reserves the right to relax the upper age limit for these posts in case of highly experienced candidates in specialized scientific areas. 4. The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications. 5. Against the vacancies to be filled up on direct recruitment basis, appointments shall be made initially on temporary basis and the confirmation of the appointee to the post shall be considered only after his/her satisfactory clearance of prescribed probation period.
